A little chunk of "Betty" and some ice cream, heaven! Easy to make, and real easy to eat! We have been enjoying this dessert recipe for as long as I can remember.
Food is the one thing that everyone can enjoy and share! It's like love, a universal language. As great recipes make their way from one table to the next, ingredients are altered, amounts changed, minor changes here and there. That's a good thing. Recipes should be adjusted to suit everyone's personal taste!
Ingredients:
Cooking Directions:
Preheat the oven to 375 F.
Lightly grease an oven proof dish or pie plate.
Mound sliced apples in the container.
Sprinkle with orange juice.
In a medium bowl, mix flour, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
Cut in butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Scatter over the apples.
Bake in preheated oven for 45 minutes.
Serve warm with either ice cream or whipped cream. This is a refreshing treat that you can make ahead of time. I like Granny Smith apples, but you can use your favorite. Enjoy!
