The "Mojito" is another rum classic and may very well be the best of all hot summer day coolers!

To all our rum drinking friends, if you haven't tried this one, you're missing out. Put a "Mojito" party together and enjoy.

Havana sends us another excellent rum drink! You will find many Mojito variations available, but this recipe uses the standard recipe's ingredients.

Mojitos are a great tasting cocktail and especially enjoyed on a hot summer day!

As with all great recipes, whether food or drink, changes are made from one to another as they are passed along. Some are altered, many improved and a few are totally transformed.

The rules of the recipe are meant to be altered to suit your individual taste.

Traditional Mojito Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 Oz. White Rum
  • 2 Oz. Club Soda
  • 6-8 Mint Leaves
  • 2 Tbsp. Simple Syrup (equal amounts of sugar and water)
  • Fresh Juice of 1/2 Lime
  • A Lime wedge


To Mix:

In a Collins, High Ball, or Hurricane glass, muddle all but one fresh mint leaf with the simple sugar and lime juice.
Top glass with ice.
Add the rum and the club soda.
Stir well and add last mint leaf and lime wedge as garnish.

1 Tbsp. Sugar or 1 teaspoon powdered sugar may be substituted for simple syrup.
